Why people have problems with "Black is king": A deeper analysis

Hey everyone, welcome back to another blog. Today I am going to be talking about Beyonce’s new visual album Black is king. But before we start, I just wanted to say that I have merch and a YouTube channel with the video version of this blog, both of which will be linked at the end also I am also in the process of changing my site and YouTube channel name and logo so make sure to tell me what you think of it, and also this isn’t a hate blog towards Beyonce nor Black is king. This is merely constructive criticism based off of both my opinion and others on this album. Now let's start! ~

To begin I wanted to talk about its relation with the illumati theory. Most of you weather a fan or not probably know that there are many theory’s concerning Beyonce and the illumati. Many people think black is king either proves or ties this entire theory together. Though, I would have to disagree. There are many things that could possibly prove Beyonce is in the illumati but I doubt black is king is one of them. I genuinely think that, this was just Disney plus's way to cash off this theory and belief about Beyonce. They throw up many hand signs shaped in triangles and in the sequence for the song my power there is even a goat which usually has to do with the devil etc.

Next, let’s talk about the problems I guess you could say. The stereotypes are very heavy in this visual. Africains don’t live in huts or always have chalk on their faces. Africia has grown so far from that. I don’t think it was Beyonce’s intention to kind of follow these stereotypes but rather she just used misleading info or to make it seem more “African” or “Recognizable” to people not from the continent she or her production team decided to follow this route for the album.

So, what's my final critic for the visual album, Black is king?

I don’t think it's that bad. I mainly think that she should have incorporated more things from modern day Africa. It just follows so many stereotypes and could have saved a lot of drama and may have not offended as many people. Other than that, I find the sound track amazing and found it well put together.

So, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog! If you did leave a heart and comment also tell me if you want me to talk about more singers, K-pop idols, and even actors. And I’ll see you in the next blog! - Bye ~
